After the heater for the adult pool went down at the Okeechobee KOA Resort, KOA managers Tammy and Marc Hollander decided to make the best out of a bad situation.
On Jan. 9 the Okeechobee KOA held a polar plunge. Employees, guests, and friends took donations in return for pledging to jump in the chilly water. Overall the resort was able to raise over $9,000 for KOA Cares, a camp for children battling cancer.
