Camp Boggy Creek: A Place of Healing and Adventure for Children with Serious Illnesses
As featured on Lifetime’s “Designing Spaces®,” Camp Boggy Creek recently received a much-needed archery field upgrade, highlighting the incredible work they do as a pediatric oncology camp.
Camp Boggy Creek, located in Eustis, Florida, is a premier pediatric oncology camp dedicated to providing children with serious illnesses the chance to experience the joys of childhood in a medically safe environment. Supported by the Care Camps Foundation, Camp Boggy Creek offers year-round camping experiences for children and their families, free of charge.
With fully equipped medical facilities on site, the camp ensures that each child receives the specialized care they need while enjoying outdoor activities like fishing, canoeing, and archery, fostering both physical and emotional healing through nature.
As one of the many camps funded by the Care Camps Foundation, Camp Boggy Creek stands out for its commitment to creating an inclusive environment where children battling serious illnesses can form lifelong friendships, build confidence, and rediscover the fun of simply being a kid.
The camp’s comprehensive programs are designed to address the unique needs of children battling these illnesses, offering a space where they can experience the transformative power of the outdoors without having to worry about compromising their health.
Care Camps Foundation is the only national non-profit whose sole purpose is to fund pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada.
We support camps who are members of the Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA) which oversees the camps’ quality assurance and professional development. The Care Camps Foundation partners with the outdoor industry, other businesses, foundations and individuals to elevate their mission.
Supporting Over 120 Pediatric Oncology Camps Across the U.S. and Canada
According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, an estimated 1 in every 285 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20. That’s an estimated 15,780 children in just the U.S. with cancer.
Care Camps Foundation is celebrating 40 years of helping to fund specialized summer camps that give children battling serious illnesses the space to enjoy the outdoors while receiving the care they need.
In 2023, Care Camps Foundation provided $2M in funding to over 120 pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada collectively touching over 41,000 lives of children and family members who attended.
