Care Camps Foundation Launches Young Professionals Board
BILLINGS, Mont. – Care Camps Foundation announces the official launch of its first Young Professionals Board in the organization’s history, marking a strategic step forward in engaging the next generation of outdoor industry leaders. The national board will focus on advancing industry awareness, strengthening fundraising efforts, and supporting corporate development across the United States, according to a release.
The Young Professionals Board is designed to engage emerging leaders from across the outdoor industry, with a focus on marine, travel, retail, and Fortune 1000 companies, the release continued.
Applications and nominations are now open as Care Camps Foundation seeks to appoint twenty founding members in its inaugural year.
“This is an important moment for Care Camps Foundation,” according to Jenna Berneck, development director. “We are intentionally building a leadership platform that invites the next generation of industry professionals into purpose-driven work. By engaging emerging leaders now, we are strengthening our long-term ability to serve children with cancer and the camps that make these life-changing experiences possible.”
To lead this new effort, Care Camps Foundation has appointed Garett McKinnon, chief revenue officer at Campground Views, as chair and Lexi Roberts, dealership coordinator at Long View RV, as co-chair of the Young Professionals Board.
McKinnon brings more than twenty years of executive leadership experience in sales, business development, and organizational leadership. His career has centered on building strong teams, aligning strategy with purpose, and leading with integrity. He is deeply committed to strong governance, collaborative decision-making, and servant leadership.
“The formation of this Young Professionals Board represents intentional growth,” said McKinnon. “We are building a structure that will support strong governance while empowering new leaders to contribute strategically. This is about investing in sustainable impact and creating pathways for professionals who want to align their careers with meaningful service.”
Roberts brings deep roots in the RV industry and a strong operational perspective to her new leadership role. As Dealership Coordinator at Long View RV in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, she represents the third generation of her family’s dealership, founded in 1959 by her grandfather. She is actively involved in RVDA and RVIA volunteer and leadership groups, where she collaborates with peers and contributes to the broader industry community.
“I grew up in the RV industry and have seen firsthand the power of outdoor experiences to bring people together,” said Roberts. “Serving as Co-Chair of the Young Professionals Board is an opportunity to help connect emerging leaders with meaningful impact. Care Camps Foundation reflects the values of community, service, and stewardship that define our industry.”
The Young Professionals Board will serve as both an ambassador and a leadership development platform, connecting emerging industry leaders to mission-driven work while expanding Care Camps Foundation’s national corporate relationships. Initial term lengths will be established between one and three years as the founding structure is finalized.
