We are so grateful to have your campground join this statewide effort to support camps for children with cancer through Care Camps Foundation.

Pennsylvania Campgrounds for Kids is a friendly fundraising competition among PA campgrounds held in September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in partnership with PCOA. Together, campgrounds across the state help make medically supervised camp experiences possible at no cost to families. At these camps, children with cancer find joy, belonging, and the healing power of the outdoors. They enjoy moments of adventure and outdoor fun and get to be children without having to explain. Families find relief and trust in safety and care. Your participation helps make these experiences possible.

Here is what you can expect next.

The campaign runs throughout September. To help you prepare, you have access to a Pennsylvania Campgrounds for Kids Participant Resources site with marketing assets, simple fundraising ideas, social media samples, staff talking points, and more. Our goal is to make this easy and meaningful for your team.

Some best practices from the 2025 campaign include:

Donating a percentage or dollar amount for every guest night sold
Providing a round-up option on purchases
Displaying the donation QR code round the campground for guest donations
Hosting fundraising events (cornhole)
Hosting staff challenges
Posting on social media
Displaying donation information on signs throughout the campground
Proudly displaying “I donated” postings at the campground
