The Young Professionals Board is building a 45,000-glowstick chain — one light for every child and family member Care Camps serves each year — to fund medically supervised pediatric oncology camps at no cost to families.

The record to beat is 32,499. We are going for 45,000 — a 5.6-mile chain of light carried by campers, families, and supporters. Every stick in that chain is bought by a $10 donation, and every dollar sends a child with cancer to camp.

Welcome guests to Tampa with a kickoff activity, casual food truck dinner, live concert and campfire gathering featuring snacks, conversation and networking.

Begin with a 5K run/walk followed by brunch and a backpack-making activity. Attendees will spend the afternoon enjoying lawn games and networking before beginning assembly of the 45,000 glow sticks at 3 p.m. Teams will work throughout the afternoon to prepare the chain, including creating a special Care Camps display for photos and videos. The evening will continue with a celebration dinner featuring fundraising, storytelling and an opportunity to hear more about the impact Care Camps has on children and families affected by childhood cancer. The night will conclude with a bonfire and games.
